StoryFighter Privacy Policy

This page explains what information StoryFighter keeps about you, why, and what you can do about it. We follow Israel's Privacy Protection Law and, for players in the European Union, the GDPR.
1. What we keep

We do not ask for your real name, address, phone number or payment details. We do not use advertising trackers.
2. Who sees it
- Only the StoryFighter team.
- The company that hosts our server (Hetzner, Germany) stores the data for us.
- When you use "Forgot account?", the mail with your account names and reset codes is sent through our mail provider (Google Gmail). It sees your email address and that mail, nothing else.
- Other players see only what the game shows: your character name, level, look, alliance and chat.
- We never sell your information. We share it only if the law requires it.
- Copies of "Forgot account?" mails stay in our mailbox's sent folder for up to 90 days, then we delete them.
3. How long we keep it
- Account and character data: while your account exists.
- Your IP address: removed from your account after 1 day; in our logs up to 90 days.
- Chat logs and cheat logs: up to 90 days, longer only while a report or ban is being checked.
- Reset codes from "Forgot account?": 15 minutes, and only in the server's memory.
- Backup copies of the database (so we can repair the game after an error): up to 30 days.
- After you ask us to delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days (backups included). We may keep a ban record (computer ID) so a banned cheater cannot simply come back.
Why we are allowed to use it
- To give you the game you signed up for (your account, characters, chat).
- To keep the game safe and fair for everyone (IP, computer ID, logs, reports).
- Your email only because you chose to give it; ask us any time and we remove it.
Gmail (Google) may handle the recovery mail outside the EU; Google protects it with the EU's standard contract rules.
4. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- show you the information we have about you;
- fix wrong information;
- delete your account and its data.
Email storyfightersup@gmail.com from the address you gave us, or tell us your account name and how we can confirm it is yours. We answer within 30 days.
If you are in the EU, you can also complain to your local data protection authority. In Israel, you can contact the Privacy Protection Authority.
5. Children
StoryFighter is for players 13 and older. If we learn that a child under 13 has an account, we will delete it. Parents can email us.
6. Safety
Passwords are stored only in scrambled form. The server and database are not open to the public internet except for the game ports. No system is perfectly safe, but we will tell affected players if their data is leaked.
7. Changes
If we change this page, we will announce it in the launcher or in the game.
